Terms of Service

1. Membership

1.1 Membership is open to individuals and companies operating in or affiliated with the payments industry in South Africa.

1.2 Membership is subject to approval by the Payments Club administration.

1.3 Members must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

1.4 Members are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.

2. Member Conduct

2.1 Members shall conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards other members, staff, and guests.

2.2 Members shall not share their login credentials with others.

2.3 Members shall not use the platform for unlawful or inappropriate purposes.

2.4 Members shall not scrape, harvest, or use member or company information for unauthorised commercial solicitation.

2.5 Members shall respect Chatham House-style expectations for closed/private sessions where declared.

3. Events and Registrations

3.1 Event registrations are subject to capacity limits and may be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.

3.2 Members must check in using their QR code at events.

3.3 No-shows may affect future registration privileges.

3.4 Members may bring up to 2 guests per event, subject to the Club's Bring a Friend policy.

3.5 The inviting member vouches for their guest's conduct.

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 All content on the Payments Club platform is the property of The Payments Club.

4.2 Members may not reproduce or distribute platform content without permission.

4.3 The Payments Club name, logo, and branding may not be used without prior written consent.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

5.1 The Club processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

5.2 Members have the right to access, correct, or delete their personal information.

5.3 Members may withdraw consent at any time, subject to the consequences set out in the Privacy Policy.

5.4 The Club's Privacy Policy forms part of these Terms of Service.

6. Termination

6.1 The Payments Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for violations of these terms.

6.2 Members may request termination of their membership at any time.

6.3 Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that have already accrued.

7. Disclaimer

7.1 The Payments Club provides networking and event services "as is."

7.2 We do not guarantee specific outcomes from membership or events.

7.3 Content on the platform, including member and company profiles, is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute advice.

7.4 Views expressed by members, speakers, sponsors or guests are their own and are not endorsed by the Club.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, and except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, the Club accepts no liability for indirect or consequential loss.

8.2 Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under POPIA, the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable law.

8.3 Liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct is not excluded.

9. Changes to Terms

9.1 The Payments Club may update these terms from time to time.

9.2 Members will be notified of significant changes.

9.3 Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing Law

10.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

10.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
